Short opera written by Paul Sartin and Andy Mellon for a Streetwise Opera event based on Fables. This story is based on a local legend which occurred during the Napoleonic wars when a monkey dressed in French naval uniform was discovered on a shipwreck on the coast at Hartlepool by locals who suspected him of being a French spy and hung him for treason. The work, which was one of a quartet of films, was performed by members of Streetwise Opera and directed by Tom Marshall. It premiered with three other films at the Spitalfields Music Festival in December 2010 and toured the UK and further afield during 2011.
